Ross Taylor

For many years Ross combined life as a serious climbing bum with work in outdoor retail and as a climbing instructor, however, in his late twenties he decided he needed to get serious and finish his journalism degree. Having completed the world’s longest Arts degree, his passion for words and photography secured him a job working at the iconic Australian outdoors magazines,Wild and Rock. Within a year he was lucky enough to become editor of both titles, where he worked until leaving to establish Adventure Types. He is now the co-editor of Vertical Life, Australasia’s best climbing rag. 

Ross has also worked for a huge range of other publications including Australian Geographic OutdoorRock and Ice (US), Outer EdgeDigital Photo ReviewThe AgeMXTrail Run MagClimb Magazine (UK), Crux, and Gripped (Canada). While he has worked extensively as an editor for Lonely Planet. Ross' adventure passions include rockclimbing, bushwalking and trail running.
